Goulburn Regional Art Gallery Identity
Using typologies associated with agricultural landscapes and its associative colour, pastoral blocking and repetitive lines combine to create a rich body of graphic elements that can be assembled in various configurations to create a dynamic and multi layered identity. The brandmark itself with its radiating line work evokes associations with the regions’ indigenous heritage, to modernist mark making in the lineage of Francesco Saroglia’s Woolmark logo and to the minimalist hypnotic repetitive line work of Frank Stella’s redactive Black Paintings of the 1960’s. The result is a sophisticated, memorable and authentic identity that not only “punches way above its weight” as a regional art gallery but goes further to create an identity that has a broader sense of place for its community.
